RIDGELAND — An officer-involved shooting during a holdup a BankCorpSouth branch on Pear Orchard here Tuesday afternoon apparently involved a 16-year-old, according to media reports.
Agents and crime scene technicians of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, along with members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Criminal Reconstruction Unit, were investigating the officer-involved shooting.
At about 2 p.m. Tuesday, a robbery was reported at the BancorpSouth branch in the 700 block of Pear Orchard Road near County Line Road. Officers of the Ridgeland Police Department responded and shots were fired. The suspect was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
No other details, including the name of the suspect, had been released Tuesday afternoon.
