GLUCKSTADT — The county will soon begin looking into a series of sinkholes in this neighborhood located off Gluckstadt Road after a homeowner pleaded for assistance in front of the Board of Supervisors Monday night.

Nora Moss of Parkfield Drive told supervisors there have been ongoing sinkholes in the neighborhood for some time now.

“As soon as they repair one, another pops up somewhere else,” she said, saying the sides of a drain have now collapsed.

“(There are) certain areas in the property that have sunk about six inches,” she said.

County Engineer/Road Manager Dan Gaillet said he has been out to the site and they would be working to address the issues soon, saying it will be a costly repair.

Gaillet was unable to give an estimate on the cost associated with the repairs.
