Ridgeland Police are actively seeking public assistance in identifying a repeat suspect involved in a number of metro area robberies including two Ridgeland liquor stores.

Ridgeland Police Lt. Brian Myers released photos taken from surveillance at one of the businesses.

The liquor stores have been identified as Old Canton Wine and Liquor at 6592 Old Canton Road and Lake Harbour Package Store at 1075 Lake Harbour Drive.

“Ridgeland Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying this man who has broken into minority-owned businesses and has damaged property and has stolen cash and merchandise,” Myers said.

The still frames from the store’s video surveillance shows a black male wearing a black shirt with a red bandana covering his face. The suspect uses a crowbar to break the lock on a metal door.

“Please note that one of these photos was recorded by an infrared camera which distorts skin tone and color of clothing,” Myers said.

The break-ins occurred on Sept. 8 and Sept. 17. Myers had previously sent out a release following the first burglary at Old Canton Wine and Liquor on September 8.

Myers said that the same suspect shown in surveillance footage broke into a business in the city of Ridgeland on that date and stole the cash drawer and some merchandise.

The suspect is seen ripping the cash register from the counter.
