  • Frank Steele (Bubba) Arnold, Jr.

    Frank Steele (Bubba) Arnold, Jr., 79, died on June 6, 2018, in St. Dominic's Hospital as a result of a complication with meningitis. Bubba was the son of the late Frank Steele Arnold, Sr., and Virgillee Holloway Arnold, both from Jackson, MS. He was born in Jackson on April 26, 1939. He married Judy Swetland Arnold from Grenada, MS in 1961.

  • Ernestine Simmons, 84, of Madison, passed away on May 25, 2018.  Born September 1, 1933 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ernestine was the only child of William and Isabelle Simmons. She was in the A.K.A. Sorority and graduated from Chaney Teachers College in Philadelphia, PA with a major in English. She taught grades 3 through 8 and spanned a variety of subjects during her years as an educator. She resided in other states, such as, California and South Carolina before settling in Mississippi after her retirement.
  • Jesse Hugh Bufkin went home to be with his Lord on May 5, 2018 while surrounded by family and friends at his home
  • Jean A Kuyrkendall, 85, passed away April, 27, 2018. He was born in McComb, MS on February 19, 1933 to Dudley Frith and Ina Dorris Kuyrkendall. Jean enlisted in the US Air Force following his high school graduation and served 4 years as an Airman 1st Class. After serving his country, he had a long career in the field of accounting.  Jean was a faithful member and ordained deacon of First Baptist Church Madison.
  • Morris Edward Branigin of Canton went to the Son of God in Heaven on April 18, 2018, at the age of 99. A  service was held on April 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Canton and burial was in the Canton Cemetery. Ed was born in Canton MS July 6, 1918, to Morris Webb Branigin and Lena Boyd Branigin. He grew up on the family farm south of Canton, attended school in Canton
  • On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Daniel C. (Pete) Perry, passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 69. Dan was a Vietnam Veteran and loyal Christian. He is survived by Pat Perry, his wife of 49 years, sons: Dan Jr. (Kim), Steven (Missi) and Jason (Trish). He will be missed by his ten grandchildren: Abby, Hannah, Dean, Kristen, Caleb, Isabel, Lily, Sam, Emma, and Annah. He is survived by four brothers, three sisters, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
  • William A. (Bill) Monroe, Sr., 92, of Ridgeland formerly of Kosciusko, passed away April 18, 2018. Born May 25, 1925, the third son of Otis Riley and Audrey Theoda Hodges Monroe, and a 4th generation Attala County native.
  • Grace F. Houston passed away at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center on April 16, 2018. Grace was born in Preston, MS on June 3, 1926 to Virgie and Harvey Fulton.
  • Mavis Latham passed away peacefully at the Madison County Nursing Home in Canton after a yearlong battle with Alzheimer's. A service was held April 11 at Breeland Funeral Home with burial in the Canton Cemetery. Mavis O. Latham was born at home in rural Attala County, Mississippi near Kosciusko on August 20, 1920.
  • Wanda Jeanne Sanders Copeland, 92, of Madison passed away on April 13, 2018. Wanda was born in Lumberton, Mississippi and lived in Meridian, Jackson and then Madison.
